We Need Your Help!
For the first time in nearly 15 years, IFDH has been forced to temporarily suspend accepting patient applications due to a backlog of 1,000 patients. Pending applications are patients that have been accepted into the program but are waiting for a dentist to treat them. Though DDS expanded in recent years by hiring a downstate coordinator, the bottleneck has grown and more volunteer dentists are desperately needed. "We’re looking to grow our base of volunteer dentists from 675 to 1,500 this year.
Taking one patient a year can make a huge impact.
DDS volunteers enjoy many benefits. First, you get to work in your own office with your own equipment and staff. IFDH coordinators match your desires with the needs of elderly or disabled patients and coordinate most of the patient contact and travel needs. They also arrange for lab services, most of which are donated. Volunteer labs have access to manufacturers that donate denture materials, metals, and implants. Moreover, if you determine one of our patients could benefit from a Sonicare unit, Philips will send you two units: one for the patient and the other for you to use as you wish.
If you’re ready to volunteer your services to a worthy cause, or have questions please submit your contact infromation below. One of our coordinators will contact you directly. Thank you for your support.
